The term ‘wellness’ is so new, that it’s being used in a variety of contexts. Wellness is a more expansive concept than health. It includes health and vitality. Dr. Patrick Gentempo, founder of the Creating Wellness ™ Alliance, came up with a definition for wellness along with his team of health experts that we respect.
They’ve defined wellness as: |
“The degree to which an individual experiences health and vitality in the three dimensions of their life - Physical, Bio-Chemical and Psychological.” |
In order to achieve true wellness you need balance in these three dimensions of your life. There will always be stresses in these dimensions, but it’s all about balancing the negative and positive stresses to create harmony in your life. The Wellness Care Model is what you should strive to follow on a daily basis. It is based on promoting, regaining and/or maintaining health. The Wellness Model is true healthcare and what you should follow from the time you get up to the time you go to bed. This isn’t just about your waistline, this is about your lifestyle, empowering you to take control.

Our clinic is thrilled to be part of over 300 centres who offer a complete wellness evaluation in the 3 dimensions of health called the Creating Wellness ™ Assessment. The Creating Wellness ™ Assessment Station (CWAS) is a high-tech tool that includes a pre-configured computer, proprietary CWAS instruments, and a Creating Wellness Server System interface. Using over 50 measurements and 5,000 normative data comparisons, our software calculates the Client’s Wellness Quotient (WQ). |

The Creating Wellness journey begins with the Creating Wellness Assessment. Using state-of-the-art, scientific technology and a comprehensive lifestyle questionnaire, our assessment evaluates the wellness of the client in each of the 3 dimensions.

Your Body is Knocking, Are you Listening?
Module #1 you will set goals and create your vision for the rest of the program. The first big key is you will learn is how your behavior and thoughts may be affecting your health. Then you will learn about stress and how it affects your body. You should start feeling better right away!

Do You Really Know What You Are Eating?
Module #2 focuses on nutrition. You will learn about proteins, fats and carbohydrates. You will also learn how to read food and nutrition labels in order to determine if what you are eating is actually good for you. The module also discusses processed foods and what should be avoided.

Everything You Wanted to Know About Diets But Did Not Know To Ask
Module #3 covers the three common categories of food sensitivities: gluten, soy and milk. This module will help you to determine if you have any of these sensitivities as well as, provide guidance on what foods to eat and which ones to avoid, should you have any of these sensitivities.

Working Out, It’s Really Not That Complicated
Module #4 focuses on how to achieve a well rounded exercise regime, in less 40 then minutes per day — an exercise regime that encompasses all the required aspects of a complete, simple workout. Module #9 looks at the effects that sleep and magnetism can have on your health. There are positive and negative sources of magnetism that either work for or against your health.

Module #10 ties together all the work and self exploration you will be doing in the previous 9 modules and will give you the tools to keep you on track. Module 10 will also ensure that the changes you have made over the past 10 weeks are changes you can keep for a lifetime.

What is a Wellness Quotient?
It is a single number - personal to you - that is determined by the sum total of your measured response to a Creating Wellness Assessment. This Assessment includes a measurement of all three dimensions of your life - physical (Be Fit.), nutritional (Eat Right) and psychological (Think Well).
What types of tests are included in the Creating Wellness Assessment?
First, you complete a lifestyle questionnaire that considers over 50 factors that are indicators of your overall wellness. Next, you proceed through a series of in-depth, scientific tests that measure your strength, body composition, vital lung capacity, resting heart rate, blood pressure and stress response.
Are the tests invasive?
No, the tests are non-invasive and you will remain in your street clothes throughout the series.
What areas of my body will be screened in order to determine my Wellness Quotient?
You will breathe into a lung capacity tester. Your waist will be measured. Your arm will be wrapped with a blood pressure monitor cuff. Pulling on an isometric-like bar will test your strength. Your fingertips will rest on a stress profiler.
How long will the assessment last?
The Creating Wellness Assessment will last approximately 20 minutes.
Will I get my Wellness Quotient immediately following the Assessment?
Yes, your Wellness Quotient - a single number value personal to you- will be the final sum of the Assessment you have taken.
Who will administer the Wellness Assessment?
A certified wellness coach will administer your Wellness Assessment in confidence. |
